More about the role:
As our Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing and delivering all matchday and non-matchday conferences and events at Edgbaston. You will lead a dedicated operations team to ensure seamless execution across a range of events, including corporate meetings, exhibitions, weddings, and large-scale conferences. This is a key role that requires both strategic leadership and operational excellence.
1. Oversee end-to-end operations for all C&E and Hospitality, ensuring high-quality standards and guest satisfaction
2. Lead, manage, and develop a team of event operations staff, ensuring performance goals are met
3. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and catering teams to deliver exceptional event experiences
4. Implement processes and procedures to drive operational efficiency and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards
5. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and clients to enhance the site reputation as a premier event venue
6. Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for C&E and Hospitality operations, ensuring profitability and cost control
7. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in event delivery and guest services
About you:
1. Proven experience in catering or hospitality management, preferably in a high-volume venue or event environment
2. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
3. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks in a dynamic setting
4. Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and food safety standards
5. Proficiency in relevant software applications for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting
6. A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and exceeding expectations
7. A mindset that pushes boundaries and shares knowledge, always pushing for positive change and never accepting second best
