2-3 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: · The Residential Care Worker for Adults will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to adults with varying needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and other complex needs. · This role involves supporting individuals to live as independently as possible, promoting their well-being, dignity, and rights within a safe and supportive residential setting. · The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals to ensure that the needs of each resident are met in accordance with their individual care plans. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): 1. Personal Care and Support · Aid with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, ensuring residents' comfort and dignity. · Support residents in maintaining and improving their independence wherever possible, encouraging them to participate in activities that promote personal development and well-being. 2. Individualized Care Planning · Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans, ensuring that the needs, preferences, and goals of each resident are accurately reflected. · Regularly monitor and review residents’ care plans, providing feedback and making recommendations for adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care and support. 3. Emotional and Social Support · Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering positive relationships and promoting social inclusion. · Encourage participation in community activities and social events to enhance residents' quality of life and sense of belonging. 4. Health and Well-Being Monitoring · Monitor residents’ physical and mental health, observing any changes in condition and reporting concerns to the senior care team or healthcare professionals. · Assist in the administration of medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate records are maintained. 5. Promoting Dignity and Respect · Uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of residents at all times, ensuring that all care is delivered in a respectful and sensitive manner. · Promote and support residents' autonomy, allowing them to make choices and decisions about their lives whenever possible. 6. Safeguarding and Health & Safety · Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures and reporting any concerns promptly. · Follow all health and safety guidelines, including infection control practices, to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff. 7. Collaboration and Teamwork · Work closely with other team members, managers, and external healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care and achieve the best outcomes for residents. · Participate in team meetings and provide feedback to continuously improve the quality of care provided.
