Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist, you'll:
* Independently manage a caseload of complex cases
* Use evidence based and child centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention.
* Provide timely S< advice, reports and programmes to be integrated within the child or young person’s daily curriculum
* Utilise technology to enable you to update records as you go
The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports patients across Northamptonshire. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the service and balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.
Must have skills
* Relevant post graduate experience and CPD
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Detailed knowledge of a range of assessments and therapeutic approaches for a broad range of children
* Experience of working in one or more specialist areas
Experience
* Relevant post graduate experience including working with chosen area of specialism
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Involving parents/carers in the therapy process
* Development, deliver and evaluation of training
* In depth experience of working with a range of different children, using a range of therapeutic approaches
* Experience of audit and service improvement
Qualifications
* Recognised SLT Degree or equivalent
* RCSLT member
* HCPC member
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Attendance at CEN/ additional training course to further develop learning
