Due to internal progression, OCU Group are seeking a professional Management Accountant to join our team in our Stockport head office.
The Management Accountant is responsible for producing accurate financial reports, analysing key financial data, and providing insights to support business decision-making. This role ensures effective financial planning, cost control, and budget management within the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of management accounts including journal postings, group reporting pack, lead monthly finance meetings and entity Board report.
2. Provide insightful analysis and commentary of performance and variances to expectations and business case.
3. Provide contract level reporting for operational and commercial review.
4. Month end balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Establish and maintain strong financial controls.
6. Preparation of weekly cash forecasting.
7. Link with transactional finance team to maximise working capital cycle.
8. Input and assistance required for embedding Microsoft Dynamics 365 for entities recently migrated, and support Dynamics implementation for entities which are due to migrate in the next 3-9 months.
9. Leading the entities' annual external audit process and preparation of statutory accounts.
10. Provision of required information relevant to the consolidated Group statutory accounts disclosures and statutory tax computations.
11. Support in implementing and enforcing the Group's established financial reporting policies and processes.
Skills and Experience:
1. Will consider those underway with accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified.
2. Experience in delivering management accounts, from start to finish.
3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial systems.
4. A proven ability to deliver under pressure.
5. Great communication skills - this person will interact across all levels of the business, including senior operational and commercial leaders.
