Job summary Band 3 Senior Therapy Assistant 1.0 - Orthopaedics An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full time Band 3 Senior Therapy Assistant to join the Inpatient Therapy Orthopaedic Team. The post will involve cross site working at both the Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke sites. The Orthopaedic team provides inpatient therapy services to trauma and elective orthopaedic patients at both Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals and is very dynamic and forward-thinking. Previous applicants need not apply Main duties of the job Role Summary: To support patients with mobility and transfer practice To support patients, their families and carers to maximise their participation in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by following treatment programmes developed and provided by the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) involved Assisting the therapists and wider MDT with discharge planning Completing functional tasks delegated by the therapists to support the patient in returning to their previous level of function Assisting on visits to patients homes to assess their discharge needs To work as a supervised member of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining good communication with the AHPs, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team e.g. doctors, nurses and social workers to try to achieve the Predicted Date of Discharge (PDD).
