A specialist school for Communication and Interaction in Lancashire is seeking dedicated teaching assistants to support students aged three to nineteen with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The school accommodates 108 students, ranging from age 4 to 19, and offers a personalised curriculum designed to cater to the unique learning needs of each pupil.
Our students face significant challenges associated with the 'Triad of Impairment,' which includes difficulties in language and communication, social relationships, and rigid patterns of behaviour, thought, and interests.
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, your role will be pivotal in helping these pupils navigate and overcome these barriers to learning.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all children feel safe, secure, and confident in the support you provide.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-cared-for school environment that pupils and parents can take pride in.
- Promote students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development, as well as their spiritual well-being through the school's curriculum.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour when necessary and provide basic personal care.
- Assist the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting pupils' progress in line with school policies.
Requirements:
- A positive attitude and a commitment to working within a dedicated class team.
- Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher, plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups.
- Adhere to the school's Code of Conduct.
