Job overview
A full-time post has become vacant at the West of London Breast Screening Service which is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, an academic health science centre (AHSC) and the largest trust in the country. The mission of the trust is to provide world class healthcare for our patients, through excellence in research, education and training. This is an opportunity to work in one of the largest breast screening units in England where you can make a worthwhile contribution in a warm and friendly environment.
Applications are invited from Radiographers holding the post graduate certificate in Mammography (UK).
The West of London Breast Screening Service provides services to women registered with GPs in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Hillingdon. The service is based at Charing Cross Hospital and has static sites located at Charing Cross Hospital, Ealing Hospital, the Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health, St Mary’s Hospital, Uxbridge Health Centre and Hanwell Health Centre. This post necessitates travel across this area. All sites use digital mammography equipment.
This busy service provides the opportunity to work on a rotational basis in our 5 screening clinics as well as our assessment and symptomatic clinic based at Charing Cross Hospital. The successful applicant will work as part of the mammographic multi-disciplinary team, undertaking screening and symptomatic radiographic imaging, across the full range of screening and symptomatic sites.
Due to the sensitive nature of this post, only female applicants can be considered, under Section 7 (2) (b) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

To provide and maintain a high standard of radiography, teamwork and patient care for screening and symptomatic breast services.

Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Current HPC registration
* Postgraduate award or Certificate of Competence in Mammography or appropriate experience
* Up to date CPD folder with relevant mammography evidence
Experience
* Must be able to demonstrate understanding & knowledge of current techniques and equipment
* To have relevant experience
* Involvement in Quality Management Systems
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
* Be able to perform screening mammography within a specified time constraint
* Organisational ability
* IT literate
* Flexible approach to work
* Knowledge of breast disease and the NHS Breast Screening Programme
* Knowledge of EXCEL
