Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our team at Birch Abbey Nursing Home, Alexandra Road, Southport. The suitable candidate will be working 8am - 5pm. This role will also involve alternate weekends. Full time and part time contracts available. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. About the Role: As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring a clean safe environment is provided for our residents, visitors and staff and be an important part of the team that ensures residents in our care feel valued. Duties will include following a daily schedule for cleaning within the home, hoovering, dusting, polishing, shampooing carpets, mopping floors and any other duties as required. For laundry duties, you will look after all clothing and bedding, ensuring everything is labelled and washed according to the washing instructions and ironed to a high standard. About You: You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standard of domestic and laundry service to the residents in our care. You will ideally have previous domestic experience and be committed to ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and appearance. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to residents with varying needs, be a team player and able to work on your own initiative. You will be dependable and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the home.
