We are delighted to offer two LAS ST Higher (ST4 plus) posts based at Moriston Hospital Emergency Department. These are fixed term posts until to commence as soon as possible until 4th February 2025 only.
These post are not recognised for training however aim to strengthen skills in Emergency Medicine. It is intended that these posts in the South Wales region will provide an excellent learning opportunity and will enhance individuals CV's. We are able to support applications from individuals who have specific training or experience requirements such as education, quality improvement, ambulatory medicine, intensive care or acute frailty.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to build portfolios and experience at ST4-6 level. The successful candidates will participate on the 2nd On rota
The post would also be suitable for those wishing to take time out of programme (OOPE), although this must be discussed in detail with relevant current training programme directors., The post holder will participate in a full shift 24/7 rota of more experienced doctors who provide support to the junior grade at Morriston ED.
You will be clinically responsible for the diagnosis, supervision and management of patients attending the ED.
Provide initial treatment and assessment of adult and paediatric patients presenting with illness or injury and where necessary arranging for patients to be reviewed or admitted by medical staff from other specialties. On exceptional occasions, be responsible for such irregular commitments outside normal hours as are essential for continuity of patient care.

Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people.
