About the care home
An exciting opportunity has become available for a senior care assistant to join Xealthcare’s care providers beautifully modern and brand-new residential care home located in Sleaford. Our client is seeking a senior care assistant to cover night shifts on a permanent, full-time contract.
The 60 bedded home offer residential, dementia and respite care to elderly residents. The home is superbly equipped with top of the range facilities that include a bistro, hairdresser’s salon, sports lounge, music café, activity lounge, garden rooms, landscaped gardens and wellness suite.
Position: Senior Care Assistant
As a senior care assistant, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants to ensure the provision of high-quality care and assistance to our clients' residents. In addition to the responsibilities of a care assistant, you will oversee the daily operations of the care team, coordinate care plans, and act as a point of contact for the residents and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and make a positive impact on the well-being of our clients' residents.
This role would also be ideal for an experienced and motivated care assistant who is eager to take the step into a senior care assistant position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants.
* Assisting residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Administering medication in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
* Supporting residents with daily activities, such as meal preparation, eating, and mobility.
* Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
* Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
* Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
* Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care required, candidates who are working towards this are also encouraged to apply.
* Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred.
* Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
* Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
