Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for our 3 Carehomes. This position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures, while promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Operational experience in Health & Safety.
2. H&S management experience.
3. Experience of undertaking a range of Risk Assessments.
4. Contractor safety management experience.
5. Training and presenting experience.
6. Level 3 qualification in H&S Management or willingness to complete a recognised qualification.
7. H&S professional registration (IOSH) or willingness to apply for professional registration.
8. Fire safety skills.
9. Ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance, and to advise managers on a range of health and safety matters.
Duties of this role include:
1. Advising and assisting the Senior Management Team (SMT), interpreting and meeting obligations under applicable Health & Safety Acts, regulations and guidance.
2. Supporting and advising the SMT on promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the Care homes.
3. Supporting the facility in demonstrating an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to our regulators i.e., the CQC, HSE, local government agents, and interested parties.
4. Managing environmental risk effectively across the site ensuring compliance with all related legislation.
5. Championing environmental management, continually improving performance.
6. Escalating inadequately controlled H&S risks to the Operational Manager/Director and making recommendations for improvement related to car park, water, and asbestos safety etc.
