Other duties include:
1. Able to communicate imaging procedures empathetically to gain verbal consent and cooperation from a variety of patients including those from different cultural backgrounds, those with learning difficulties, paediatric, the elderly and infirm, and traumatised patients.
2. Communicates effectively with a wide range of service users including patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and use of resources.
3. Ensures that both patient care and patient welfare are kept to the highest standard.
4. Uses the Radiology computer system for input and retrieval of patient details.
5. Records all equipment faults and arranges for service engineers to attend and repair any faults as soon as possible.
6. Has knowledge of clerical and assistant duties and is able to undertake these when required.
7. Maintains a clean, tidy, and safe working environment and liaises with the estates or housekeeping department as necessary.
EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides evidence of maintaining professional competencies and continuing professional development as required by HCPC for state registration.
2. Demonstrably proactive in seeking and identifying opportunities to apply new knowledge to own and others' practice.
3. Continually assesses and monitors risk in own practice.
4. Attends mandatory training courses in accordance with Trust policies.
RESEARCH AND AUDIT:
1. Participates in the audit of clinical procedures and systems.
2. Is actively involved in service improvement.
3. Provides comments on changes to policies and procedures.
