About the opportunity : We are now looking for a Reservoir Engineering Discipline Leader (RE DL) GSS Eastern Hemisphere, who will be a key technical leader and a people manager to support reservoir engineers within the region and across the bp global. In this role, as the successful candidate, you will carry an assigned set of subject area responsibilities that include: Drive business value by prioritising people deployment, applying technical standards, best methodologies, and rigor across the squads in support of fit for purpose products. Support the technical verification of these, working closely with the subject areas partners. Connect people to knowledge and projects in service of development, technical verification, and career growth. Responsible for people management and development of their reservoirs engineers. Accountable for ensuring integration with the other subsurface subject areas and beyond where necessary (e.g. Petrophysics, Drilling, Finance, etc.). This includes the understanding and communication of uncertainty and risk management and its impact on business drivers. Promote bp common processes, workflows, practices, guides and toolkits. The business VPs and their Leadership Team (LT) will look to their RE DL’s on technical verification matters, and for maintaining a view on subject area health and requirements. Area of responsibility will cover all areas of Reservoir or Storage Complex characterisation, planning and development, and Reservoir or Storage Complex management. Self-development as a contributing leader of multiple units and part of RE LT. About the role : In more detail, some of your key job accountabilities will be to: Provide technical leadership, people management & development of reservoir engineers in GSS Lead and support federal projects in service of the subject area’s community and health Lead and support federal business projects non-squad specific Integrate with Regions to create and manage a RE Resourcing plan for requests Agree on a development plan and actions for each direct report Provide guideline and carry out all performance management requirements Provide Input to activity prioritisation, business recommendation and TORs Collaborate with other DLs on key business opportunities & risks to ensure that they are addressed in a truly integrated manner Create technical coaching plans and may participate as a coach Promote use of standard workflows, best methodologies and tools May be involved in the documentation of reporting requirements About you : You will have a Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent program (Mechanical/Chemical/ Civil Eng) from an Accredited University. It would be essential that you have: Extensive industry experience as RE or Reservoir Management leader Experience in performance discussions, sharing of knowledge, and capability building Proven track record of coaching, mentoring, technical verification Experience in ISD, RPP, SURM and Depletion/Injection Planning Strong leadership skills including servant leadership behaviours, influencing, integration Strong people management skills with the ability to work in multi-cultural, multidiscipline environment needed to ensure connection with the broad bp user community Demonstrated track record as a self-starter Capable of reducing complex problems to manageable entities Discovered Resources Management (DRM) Resource Estimator certification is desired Reservoir Design and Operating Limits (RDOL) certification is desired CCUS experience is preferable Why join our team?
