Sussex Teachers are thrilled to partner with a thriving two-form entry primary school near Brighton to recruit a Year 4 Teacher to cover maternity leave. This exciting and rewarding role begins immediately and continues until the end of July 2025.
About the school
You will be joining a vibrant, two-form entry community primary school located in Peacehaven, East Sussex. Children are enthusiastic and eager to learn and are very proud of their school and their community. With a strong and supportive staff team, the school provides a nurturing environment with spacious outdoor areas, including large playgrounds and a Forest School.
Located on the south coast, less than 10 miles from central Brighton, the school is easily accessed via public transport with regular buses from the town centre. Recently rated as "Good" by Ofsted, inspectors specifically praised the school's outstanding behaviour and attitudes, as well as its personal development programs.
Responsibilities
As the Year 4 class teacher, you will inspire and support pupils through engaging and inclusive teaching while being part of a dynamic and collaborative team. Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborate with an experienced parallel Year 4 class teacher to plan and deliver exciting lessons.
* Monitor student progress, using a variety of assessment strategies to ensure your teaching is inclusive and appropriately challenging for all learners.
* Attend staff meetings and parents’ evenings, becoming fully involved within the school community and build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher status with completion of your induction year(s).
* Recent experience teaching upper KS2.
* A commitment to supporting your continuing professional development.
* Be paid ‘to scale’ depending on your experience and previous pay grades (between £162 - £223 per day).
* As a two-form entry school, you will be supported by your parallel class teacher to share planning and resources.
