Job summary West Sussex County Council is excited to announce the expansion of our reablement service and is recruiting for a second permanent staff team to help us double our capacity. This growth will enable us to manage a highly effective service that supports individuals in achieving as much independence as possible. Our goal is simple: to ensure that as many people as possible who could benefit from reablement can access the service as early as possible. Historically, reablement has focused on supporting individuals recently discharged from hospital. Now, we are expanding the service to help people in the community who may otherwise require ongoing support. This expansion is a vital part of our broader prevention strategy, alongside our information, advice, and guidance services, as well as the use of individual and community assets, and equipment and technology. Main duties of the job The Regaining Independence Service focuses on helping people get back to where they want to be. We understand how vital it is for people to gain and regain skills which give them the confidence to live their lives their way. Occupational Therapy (OT) helps those with impairment and disability to live independent, productive lives. We support people to access their wider community, work and leisure activities and essential daily activities.
