Project Manager Team Lead
About the role
As the Project Manager Team Lead, you will drive the transformation of a project management team into a cohesive, high-performing unit. Your leadership will ensure consistent processes, tools, and communication, enabling the team to deliver successful projects aligned with business goals. Collaborating closely with senior management, you will oversee team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and excellence.
Responsibilities & Duties
* Lead and inspire the Project Management team, including Program Managers, Project Managers, and Project Support, promoting collaboration and consistency.
* Assess the current team structure, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth, including potential new roles.
* Develop and implement standard processes, templates, and tools to ensure efficiency and clarity across projects.
* Foster clear communication within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
* Create and deliver a roadmap for team improvement, gaining buy-in from team members and senior leadership.
* Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and Managing Director to address challenges openly and agree on solutions.
* Oversee project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
* Identify, raise, and manage risks effectively, building proactive solutions to minimise impact.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Lead, preferably in a software or technology-focused organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, creating a collaborative and motivated environment.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and gain consensus at all levels.
* Experience implementing standardised processes and improving team performance.
* Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Trello).
* Relevant certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) are desirable.
