Job Title: Design Drafter Type of Contract: Permanent Location: Aberdeen Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Drafter to join the engineering team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will create detailed technical drawings and documentation for cutting-edge downhole tools, with a focus on completion and intervention tools. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and wider team to ensure accuracy, compliance with specifications, and adherence to industry standards. Responsibilities: Produce accurate technical drawings using SolidWorks and other drafting tools. Create manufacturing and assembly drawings, including Excel-based BOMs. Prepare quality documentation such as engineering check sheets, inspection sheets, and project control documents. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure seamless manufacturing processes. Conduct and interpret mechanical calculations. Assist in design reviews and development plans. Provide graphical illustrations for marketing purposes. Adhere to QHSE policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements: Education: HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; enrolment in a relevant course may also be considered. Experience: 2 years in a similar field, with preferred experience in downhole tools or completion/intervention tools. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CADWORKS; strong Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge: Familiarity with API standards and manufacturing principles. Soft Skills: Strong teamwork and communication abilities; fluent in English.
