We are looking for a Patient Environment Assistant ( Porter) hours per week on a 8 week rolling rota. Including weekend work.
We are looking to recruit a Patient Environment Assistant ( Porter ) for our Team. You should be hard working, punctual and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The aim of the role is to support the clinical teams in maintaining the optimum environment for our patients. The main duties are to support patient movement, removal and disposal of waste, handling of medical gases.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
1. Driving Licence
2. Basic Numeracy and literacy skills

3. NVQ or BICS qualification in cleaning sciences or equivalent
4. Certificate in COSHH
5. Certificate in Health and Safety
Experience

6. Previous operational manual handling experience
7. Deal with internal and external communication using both verbal and written material

8. Knowledge of cleaning in a large setting or Health Care environment
