Main duties of the job
As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be on undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems. Other responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs, supporting new residents to arrange their room, ensuring routine re-decoration, advising on supplies and ordering replacement goods, and providing out-of-hours emergency service.

Job responsibilities
Your focus as a Maintenance Operative will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems whilst ensuring facilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilities will include:
1. Carrying out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including all electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
2. Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
3. Ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken as required to maintain the standards in the home.
4. Advising on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
5. Providing out-of-hours emergency service, participating in the on-call rota.
About you

Our ideal candidate must:
1. Have a minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
2. Hold a full driving licence.
3. Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
4. Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Additional Requirements
Please note this role will require:
1. ADBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
2. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
