We provide specialist mental healthcare and deliver a range of inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve lives. Your role with us The role will involve working closely with a qualified psychologist to contribute to the delivery of psychology on the wards, alongside a full MDT and nursing team. The roles and responsibilities of an Assistant Psychologist are varied, but focus on assisting qualified psychologists at all stages of our patients admission. This includes assisting in the assessment and formulation of our patients mental health and risk/offending needs, and also supporting the delivery of tailored mental health and offence-focused psychological interventions (both group and individual) and relapse prevention planning. These responsibilities are alongside assisting with clinical audit, service evaluation, research, staff training, and the writing of psychological reports. Your profile The successful applicants will join a large psychology team. Duties are varied andwill assist Qualified Psychologists in psychological and behavioural assessments of patient needs, offering group and individual therapy sessions based on CBT and psycho educational models, maintaining research databases, carrying out clinical audits, delivering staff training. Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society. Applicants with either previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting or a relevant post graduate qualification are very welcome. Applicants should be very competent in computer skills, research methods, have high levels of literacy and numeracy, and have great interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience and interest in working with adults with autism, intellectual disability or offenders is advantageous, but not essential.
