A fantastic opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced registered nurse to join the haematology team managing and coordinating a wide range of National studies including myeloma, acute myeloid leukaemia, as well as non-cancer Haematology studies within the Haematology Department.
The aim of this post is to increase recruitment into Haematology research studies as part of the strategic development of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly and growing Haematology multi-disciplinary team.
The post will involve recruiting patients into clinical studies, providing support and education whilst on the clinical study and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the set-up of new studies, in conjunction with the Research and Development department. This will include studies adopted onto the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio and those commercially sponsored. The post holder will work as part of the larger team to ensure the research is delivered in accordance with the necessary requirements and regulations, including ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Support will be provided from the Clinical Research Network Yorkshire & Humber and full training will be given to develop within the post.
Main duties of the job
As the Research Sister / Charge Nurse in Haematology you will be responsible for leading on the delivery of specialised, patient-focused, evidence-based and protocol-driven care in partnership with patients, relatives and the Multi-disciplinary team. To ensure that patient care is delivered according to best practice, Trust policies and procedures, R&D guidelines and standard operating procedures. You will be expected to adhere to appropriate regulations, principles and good clinical practice that ensure high-quality research and protect patients.
To be successful in this role the individual will need experience of Clinical Haematology and/or research experience and is interested in branching into the exciting and evolving area of Haematology Research.

Qualifications/Training
* Post registration experience as staff nurse (or above) working in busy clinical environment
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Working towards Post-graduate qualification/level of experience
* IT qualifications or recent training
Knowledge and Experience
* Minimum 2 years applicable experience in Haematology or Research
* Evidence of practice development and post-graduate education
* Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
* Management and leadership experience
* ICH Good Clinical Practice training
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance
