The role of the mud cooling technician will be practical and multi-disciplined across a range of mud coolers, heat exchangers and other auxiliary cooling equipment. When not offshore / posted to a job there will be a requirement for a workshop element to the role also.
Experience required in mud cooling offshore and knowledge in Geothermal drilling preferable. Rig site duties include conducting detailed surveys and reports for equipment installation both offshore or land based projects. Familiarity with rig layout and P&ID is required. The technician should have the ability to mobilise, install and demobilise the equipment, and train personnel on site as required.
KEY ACTIVITIES & TASKS
* Service and maintain all mud cooling equipment
* Ability to work on other equipment as required
* Ensure documentation is updated as required
* Prepare equipment ready for mobilisation to site
* When required assist the Service Delivery Supervisor or Manager to maintain the safe, timely and within budget completion of projects.
Key activities and tasks:
* Learn and understand the rental separation equipment OSSO provide (training will be provided theoretical and practical)
* Assist the service delivery supervisor or manager in project management, including liaising with suppliers and clients
* Maintain asset maintenance and certification files
* Ensure certification documents for offshore rental projects are completed
* Assist where required with current equipment modifications
* Safety Awareness – all OSSO equipment
* Assist operations department with any other required tasks where required
* Actively participate in the SQM management system
* Attend training courses provided by the company
* Follow company procedures
* Communication with staff members
* Any other duties line manager deems necessary
TRAINING & COMPETENCE
* To attend any required training in order to be deemed competent
* Complete company-set competency record
HEALTH & SAFETY
* Contribute to OSSO`s and any rig Safety Card System
* Adhere to OSSO`s QHSE policies and procedures
* Ensure work procedures are understood and followed and that any potential work hazards or special requirements are addressed prior to commencing work.
* All hazards are promptly reported through the safety systems in place.
* Comply with the OSSO Company Policy and Procedure as set out in the QHSE Management System.
* Participate in safety induction training and Safety Meetings.
* Aware of individual QHSE responsibilities as required by OSSO and the customer.
* Participate in safety awareness, and work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION
Qualifications/Educations:
* High School – Standard Grades/ National Fives
* Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical engineering – qualification level course mechanical, NC, HNC, HND, apprenticeship
* Offshore experience current survival and medical
SKILLS
* Fluids and mud cooling systems process knowledge and technical understanding
* Hard Working, Ability to Problem Solve, Ability to work by themselves, ability to use own Initiative.
