Poundland is looking for a Planning / Safety Co-Ordinator to join our dynamic team at the Harlow Distribution Centre. In this pivotal role, you will support the smooth running of our warehouse operations by managing recruitment, coordinating training, maintaining health and safety compliance, and ensuring essential facilities are available and functional.
This role offers a varied and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work closely with the H&S and Planning Manager, liaising with various departments to ensure the DC remains operationally fit for purpose and legally compliant.

Your Impact and Responsibilities…
* Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate all warehouse recruitment activities, including agency liaison, candidate assessment, inductions, and uniform allocation.
* Training Coordination: Plan and manage all site training, including new starter inductions, refreshers, upskilling, compliance, first aid, and apprenticeships.
* Compliance & Safety: Work closely with the H&S Business Partner to maintain and communicate Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), conduct audits, and ensure site compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Facilities Management: Oversee PPE stock, first-aid supplies, fire alarm testing, yard maintenance, and contractor coordination.
* Operational Support: Maintain MHE equipment, organise racking inspections, and liaise with providers for site efficiency.
* Documentation & Tracking: Maintain up-to-date training matrices, compliance trackers, health assessments, and site records.
Skills and Knowledge…
* Organisational Skills: Ability to coordinate multiple processes across recruitment, safety, and facilities.
* H&S Qualifications: IOSH/NEBOSH preferred.
* Excellent Communication: Verbal and written, able to liaise across teams and levels.
* Tech Savvy: Enhanced Microsoft Office skills and accurate record-keeping.
* Proactive & Detail-Oriented: Able to anticipate needs, solve problems, and manage priorities effectively.
* Training Experience: Experience delivering or coordinating training programmes is advantageous.
