This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework for the power station's thousands of rooms.
The role
As a Quality Control Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll ensure static and rotational mechanical equipment is installed in the correct orientation:
* Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
* Liaise with the client's representative for conducting day-to-day inspections during construction activities.
* Ensure installation of equipment is in compliance with ECS Code, drawings, vendor, and code requirements with respect to material, alignment, etc.
* Maintain LTQRs as required during inspections, ensuring all signatures on LTQR and ITP during inspection.
This role is full-time, with a four-day week every other week, and will be based at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater. There is a secondment allowance and accommodation available for anyone based more than two hours from the site.
Essential experience of the Quality Control Inspector
* Experience as a mechanical QC inspector
* Experience working in a highly regulated industry (oil and gas, nuclear, etc.)
* Experience with rotational equipment
Qualifications for the Quality Control Inspector
* API1658 desirable
* Degree in engineering or time-served apprenticeship in mechanical discipline preferred

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / security clearance for this role.
