Job Overview
To provide a safe, professional and effective Immunisation and Vaccination Programmes to internal and external clients, supporting the MFT Health and Wellbeing agenda.
Main Duties of the Job
* Professional accountability for delivering high standards of clinical care.
* Maintain EHW records in line with the Data Protection Act, Caldecott principles and local protocols.
* Administration of an Immunisation and Vaccination programme in line with Department of Health Guidelines, the Green Book, Patient Group Directives, Trust Policy and local EHW procedures/protocols.
* Assessing and interpreting the Immunisation and Vaccination requirements for different client groups.
* Provide clinical services to support the Management of inoculation injuries in line with Department of Health Guidelines, Trust Policy, and local EHW protocols.
* Assessing risks of an employee contracting a blood borne virus following an exposure incident and liaising with specialist teams for high risk incidents regarding treatment plans.
* Support the delivery of the seasonal influenza vaccination programme, delivering clinics across the Trust or in specific external locations.
* Undertake the role of ‘Duty Clinician/Coordinator’, including management of inoculation injuries, attending outbreak meetings, skin assessments, and responding to management/employee queries.
* Provide clinical advice whilst supporting managers, employees and Infection Prevention Team during ‘outbreak’ situations in line with Trust Policy and local protocols.

Education/Qualifications
* Current Registration with NMC as Registered General Nurse
* Immunisation and Vaccination experience
Experience
* Management of intra-muscular injections
* Management in venepuncture procedures
* Management of an Immunisation and Vaccination Programme for Healthcare Workers
* Management of Inoculation Injuries
* Health and wellbeing lifestyle screening
* OPAS/COHORT system or equivalent OH IT system
Skills
* Proficient in venepuncture
* Ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Good IT Skills
* Clinical assessment of immunisation and vaccinations
Knowledge
* Immunisation and Vaccination requirements for Healthcare Workers
* Management of Inoculation Injuries
* Health and lifestyle screening programmes
* Commitment to achieving personal, departmental and organisational objectives
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
