Job Description:
* Migration of code from Microsoft SQL Server to Snowflake, including adopting a new data structure.
* Produce high quality documentation and test evidence to support change management governance requirements.
* Assist with the investigation of unexpected financial results through in-depth data analysis.
* Support the development of new SQL code in Snowflake to support business reporting requirements related to financial data.
* Support the development of financial based processes/insights through data analysis and query development.
* Ensure proper operation of controls to safeguard the accuracy of financial outputs produced by the financial data team and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and professional standards.
* Other data related activities as may be required.
Who we’re looking for:
* Capable in SQL programming languages. Other programming languages (Python, R etc.) beneficial.
* Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and data modelling techniques.
* Experience in documentation of code changes.
* Intermediate computing skills, including Excel and Power BI. Other relevant computing systems are an advantage.
* Understanding of the SJP product range and how they operate.
* Understanding of the data systems used within the SJP business.
* Strong data analysis skills, particularly with very large datasets.
* Able to understand regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Able to communicate complex issues in a simplified manner.
* Able to build high-quality, effective relationships across the business.
* Must be able to commute to our Cirencester head office (GL7 1FP).
