An excellent opportunity exists for a specialist earthworks Project Manager. Your technical knowledge and proven experience managing all aspects of earthworks packages from excavations to processing to rehabilitating to using, or to spoil, is sought.
Your duties will include:
1. Creating the earthworks strategy for projects.
2. The effective management of all earthworks in conjunction with the Materials Manager, Delivery Agent, and Works Manager.
3. Liaising effectively with other Managers regarding the balancing and use of the material whilst maintaining close working relationships to maximize support.
4. Communicating effectively and professionally with everyone associated with the project and the wider community.
5. Overseeing the testing, rehabilitation, grading, and processing of material for re-use.
6. Managing the logistics and delivery of materials.
7. Setting and ensuring H&S and Environmental standards.
8. Establishing, maintaining, and monitoring an effective, programme-based cost management system to facilitate financial control.
9. Ensuring realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored, reviewed, and updated according to the requirements of the project and contract.
10. Ensuring processes are in place for the preparation, review, and briefing of method statements, activity plans, and risk assessments, and measures implemented to ensure they are reviewed and updated accordingly.
The requirements for this post include:
1. Preferably a civil engineering and project management qualification.
2. Previous experience and performance at Project Manager level for a tier one principal civil engineering contractor on large infrastructure projects specifically managing the earthworks packages.
3. Specialist technical and managerial civil engineering knowledge within the earthworks sector.
4. Demonstrative leadership and management ability.
5. Proven success managing budgets and exercising financial control in accordance with company procedures.
6. Detailed working knowledge of the civil engineering delivery environment and forms of contracts.
7. CSCS, SMSTS, PTS, APM, and PPQ.
