Design & Technology Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A forward-thinking secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join their innovative department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching D&T across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and independent learning. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs. Utilizing a range of teaching resources, including workshops, equipment, and technologies (such as CAD/CAM and 3D printing), to enhance students' learning experiences. Collaborating with colleagues within the Design & Technology department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to innovation and design. The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Design & Technology or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 D&T curriculum. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for design and technology. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
