We have an amazing 12 month FTC for a proven and experienced Recruitment & HR Specialist with experience in the engineering & Technical industries for both permanent and contract positions.
The Recruitment & HR Specialist is responsible for the entire recruitment lifecycle, for both subcontractors and permanent staff in all areas of the UK business. The role will also be responsible for continuing to build the employer brand and support the wider strategic priorities of the business.
The position requires someone who is 80% Recruitment and 20% HR focussed.
The duties will include, but will not be limited to:
1. Responding immediately to new resource requirements across the UK and Europe, raising relevant paperwork and advertising them effectively and liaising with subcontractors.
2. Working closely with Marketing and other stakeholders to continue to build the employer brand and support the communication of it with relevant audiences.
3. Designing and executing a suitable search campaign to generate a number of suitable applications.
4. Undertake pre-interview and select suitable candidates, shortlisting for presentation to the line manager.
5. Managing each candidate from first contact until rejection or until onboarded with the company.
6. Ensuring a fair and legally compliant process is used at all times.
7. Ensure all relevant information is processed and held appropriately.
8. Build and maintain relationships with key members of the Groups and the Space Alliance.
9. Ensure all internal processes & procedures are followed.
10. Managing internal systems including SAP SuccessFactors and Workday, and supporting their use across the UK business.
11. Supporting the Head of HR with relevant activities in particular surrounding employee retention, candidate attraction etc.
12. Other ad-hoc generalist HR tasks as appropriate.
13. Supporting hiring managers with the recruitment process and advising/coaching as required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
1. Sound understanding of skills, experience and competencies required within a professional services company.
2. Understanding of, or experience conducting, permanent or contract recruitment within Engineering or Technical environments.
3. Strong communication skills, and ability to support and interact with a wide range of individuals, both internally and externally, from junior to senior levels.
4. Strong understanding of employer branding, particularly as it relates to recruitment and people.
5. Techniques and novel ideas for proactive/direct sourcing particularly in a scientific or technical field.
6. Ability to craft appealing and accurate job adverts for publication on commercial job boards.
7. Working knowledge of employment law as it relates to recruitment.
8. Understanding of different selection and assessment techniques, including competency based interviewing.
9. Negotiation and influencing skills.
10. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
11. IT skills including strong understanding of Microsoft Office.
12. Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
13. Experience recruiting across Europe.
14. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other ATS.
15. Working knowledge of HR function and core practices.
16. Understanding of UK or EU Space Industry.
