We are looking for two dynamic Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners who presently work on the NICU at James Cook University Hospital to step up and work on the Tier 2 rota as Senior Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners as part of the overall blended medical rota on the NICU.
Main Duties of the Job
The duties will include that of the current ANNP role but will include being responsible for the neonatal clinical care in the absence of a consultant neonatologist.
This includes overseeing the care and management of sick and preterm infants whilst also managing the clinical medical team and ensuring that the consultant is kept briefed regarding the current status. It also includes being a senior decision maker around the care and management of sick and preterm infants.

* Significant experience of working as a senior nurse on the NICU.
* Significant and recent experience as a qualified ANNP working in an intensive care unit environment.
* Highly developed physical skills and ability to concentrate intensely to maintain a high degree of precision when undertaking clinical skills and specialised procedures and can train and supervise others.
* Skilled at providing nursing care on a holistic level to babies and parents as well as liaising with the multidisciplinary team and supporting Ficare principles.
* Experience of teaching all aspects of neonatal care including physiology and Mortality & Morbidity.
Desirable
* Experience of working as a Team Leader / Manager on NICU.
* Publication(s) in a peer-reviewed Journal.
* Experience in leading simulation.

* Excellent communication skills: highly skilled at imparting and receiving complex information and clinical details within the ward round and clinical situations with members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
