Regional Health & Safety Advisor (Milk Operation)

We are looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to oversee and enhance the health, safety, and environmental standards across our milk operations in West Wales and the South West. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture across multiple transport and warehouse sites.

The position of Regional Health & Safety Advisor involves:
1. Monitor and support sites Health & Safety and Quality performance.
2. Champion ways to improve the Group's Health & Safety and Quality standards and awareness.
3. Monitor, support, and enhance health, safety, and environmental performance across sites through regular visits, audits, and mentoring.
4. Advise operational teams on relevant regulations, legal requirements, and industry best practices to ensure site compliance.
5. Work closely with General Managers and operational teams to embed best-practice health and safety management processes, drive engagement, and implement proactive safety measures.
6. Champion the Intelex reporting system, oversee risk assessments, investigate accidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
7. Assist in training initiatives, toolbox talks, and communication efforts to foster a safety-first culture across all levels of the business.
8. Contribute to maintaining ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and BRC accreditations, supporting internal audit programmes and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
9. Ensure the approval process for contractors, review RAMS and safety documentation, and implement effective visitor controls.
10. Support the development and documentation of BCP measures to ensure operational resilience.
11. Build strong relationships with site managers, operational leaders, and the central HSEQ team to drive continuous improvements and a positive safety culture.
Essential skills required for Regional Health & Safety Advisor:
1. Proven experience in a similar HSE role (minimum 3 years), ideally within distribution, warehousing, or a related industry.
2. An industry-recognised qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent).
3. A strong track record of improving safety performance through cultural and behavioural change.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage teams at all levels and present to senior managers.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess data, identify trends, and implement timely solutions.
6. Attention to detail and strong decision-making skills, ensuring compliance and best practices are consistently upheld.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work varied hours when needed.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support reporting and analysis.
9. A hardworking, conscientious approach with a 'right first time' mindset and a can-do attitude.
