Location: Chester or Bromley
Rate: Up to £575/day (inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
* Develop High-Level Designs (HLD) for treasury technology solutions, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
* Define the department's technology strategies and design standards, including blueprints for Global Banking and Markets Technology.
* Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to modernize the treasury platform and integrate emerging technologies like Open Banking APIs.
* Conduct initial business engagement to shape concept designs, provide technology guidance, and estimate project timelines/resourcing.
* Review project designs from cross-functional teams to assess impacts on EMEA Treasury (technology, processes, people).
* Support agile delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely, quality deliverables.
Stakeholder Management
* Report project status to senior management in technology and business units.
* Advise on cross-border payment systems (SWIFT) and UK/EU payment schemes (SEPA Credit Transfers, Direct Debits).
Required Experience
* 15+ years in BFSI, with proven work in Banks, FinTechs, NBFCs, or Credit Unions.
* Payment Systems Expertise:
* Mastery of UK payment schemes: Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS, and SEPA (SCT Instant, Direct Debits).
* Experience with SWIFT cross-border payments and Open Banking APIs.
* Technical Skills:
* Designing scalable architectures for financial platforms (e.g., treasury management, payment gateways).
* Familiarity with ISO 20022 migration trends and real-time payment infrastructures.
* Leadership: Track record of setting technology standards, guiding agile teams, and managing stakeholder expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and DevOps practices in financial environments.
* Knowledge of the New Payments Architecture (NPA) and its implications for UK payment systems.
* Experience in regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, UK Open Banking Standards).
