TeacherActive are currently recruiting for a SENCO for a mainstream secondary school in the Swadlincote, Derbyshire area for an immediate start. This SENCO role involves responsibility for the SEND provision within the school.
The role of SENCO has the following responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing SEN policy: SENCOs are responsible for the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision. They also ensure that the policy is implemented on a day-to-day basis.
* Identifying children with SEN: SENCOs support the identification of children with SEN and coordinate provision for them.
* Liaising with parents: SENCOs liaise with parents of children with SEN.
* Carrying out assessments: SENCOs carry out four-part cycle assessments of pupils with SEN.
* Coordinating specific provisions: SENCOs coordinate specific provisions for individual pupils with SEN, including those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
