About the role
This new role will provide important support services to the professional administration of the Institute. It uniquely reports into two areas of the Institute: finance and professional services, creating scope for diverse responsibilities which will make the role interesting and with opportunities for personal development.
The finance duties will directly support the Senior Finance Manager in the production of key finance reports for use by budget holders, institute managers and the governing board. They will play a key role in ensuring core policies relating to purchasing are followed in line with company expectations.
The professional services duties will include acting as secretary to the Institute Management Board, deploying key processes and administrative tasks to support the wider team.
Please note, this is a 12-month secondment opportunity.
Other responsibilities:
1. Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Manager, assist with monthly accounting close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries in SAP accounting system.
2. After a suitable development period, lead on production of monthly management accounts using Onestream data warehouse, including writing cost centre summaries for managers.
3. Deputise for Senior Finance Manager in matters relating to financial administration.
4. Assist with preparation of audit schedules for annual financial audit.
5. Process purchasing requests for Academic and Professional Services Teams.
6. Secretary to Institute Management Board.
7. Maintenance of Institute Definitive Documentation.
8. Processing Programme Approval and Modification paperwork as per policy.
9. Organising visitors, room bookings, catering, transport for visitors to the Institute.
10. Supporting the Institute Director as per their requirements.
11. Contributing to Institute projects as required.
12. Identifying and providing key data to colleagues establishing the Digital Data Studio.
About you
Accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent).
Administrative experience (organising meetings, file management).
We would support a Level 4 Professional Accounting/Tax Technician apprentice.
Able to maintain confidentiality and role model the Institute’s management values.
