Seize this opportunity with Hitachi Energy UK as a Field Service Engineer within our Transformers (TRES) Business Unit. You will contribute to the execution of the Service strategy and Service growth by focusing on delivering timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions, and engineering projects for customers.
Execute Service work according to Hitachi Energy standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You'll be delivering quality customer service to satisfy our prestigious customers while using your initiative to identify new service opportunities for Hitachi Energy.
You’ll perform service tasks including the installation of equipment, routine maintenance, and identifying technical problems, both remotely and on-site.
About the Role
* Extensive travel required; flexible to travel throughout the UK.
* Allocate, drive, and monitor the workload based on content, delivery timescales, and competencies.
* Use available resources and operate in a responsive manner.
* Ensure materials and components for service delivery are available on time.
* Prepare documents and reports ready for sign-off by the customer within deadlines.
* Drive continuous service productivity improvement activities.
* Utilize efficient tools to streamline service processes and applications.
* Ensure service findings are delivered to the product/system local units.
* Comply with health & safety and environmental directives.
* Control the area of responsibility to ensure adequate supervision.
* Troubleshoot simple equipment failures and respond to mitigate future problems.
* Provide recommendations to management for improvement.
Your Background
* 5+ years of Field Service Engineer experience in the power sector – specifically with Transformers.
* Relevant qualifications: ONC/HNC, Engineering Degree, or similar.
* Customer-focused with the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Able to take a leading role as well as function within a team.
* Proven experience working with prestigious business customers.
* Proactive with initiative, knowing when to escalate and delegate.
* Able to cultivate customer relationships as a trusted expert in your field.
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
* Able to operate under pressure to tight deadlines with a flexible attitude to work.
* Driving License and willingness to travel across multiple locations.
* Able to work on your own initiative and make decisions.
