Incremental improvement is our aim and all team members are involved in what and how that evolves. Experience Essential Comfortable generating ideas for projects. Game design experience working on a live game. Experience using analytics to make informed changes towards gameplay and user data and turning these into focussed improvements. Knowledge of the F2P game space, as well as a passion for the mobile game space. Experience with game economy balancing. Familiarisation and some experience with game engines such as Unity. Experience working within a team environment to deadlines. Familiarity with a project planning suite - JIRA, Trello etc. Experience with grey boxing, flow charts, prototyping or similar. Desirable Experience of visual scripting tools. Traditional pipeline of learning through a University Environment. Mathematical and analytical experience. Skills and Abilities A willingness to take on all aspects of games design from being individually focussed on high concept tasks to tweaking and balancing game data in engine. Proactive approach to problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Extensive knowledge of multiple game systems and mechanics across multiple genres. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to put your ideas across to other members of the team. Solid team working skills, receptive to feedback and the ability to collaborate with others to create the finished game. A willingness to learn new technical skills. Organisation and project management skills, including familiarity with Agile development. Confidence and influencing skills to present your ideas. A flexible approach to work in order to meet deadlines. Commitment and focus to complete every task to a high standard. A high-degree of creativity and the ability to generate innovative concepts, ideas and gameplay mechanics. Duties and Tasks Working with the design team to keep feature and system designs engaging and interesting across projects. Daily communication with our external working partners tracking the health of the project and future feature designs. Writing clear and informative game design documents with the relevant information needed to develop new game features and systems. Make adjustments to game design specifications to reflect developments as the project moves forward. Research, analyse and improve upon features, keeping up with trends and user preferences. Improving and monitoring in-game economy and gameplay features. Be able to come up with ideas that tackle problems in simple, elegant ways and always put the player first. Work with the design team to realise a project’s creative vision. Use your creativity to design features of games for a range of devices and platforms that engage and capture the imagination of the user.
