Who we are
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a leading global supplier of polymer-based critical sealing solutions and components for general industry, automotive, and aerospace. We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide.
This role is pivotal in supporting both the supervisor and the team, acting as an advisor on processes and rules. You will ensure adherence to procedures, instructions, and SOPs, resolving minor issues and escalating when necessary.
As a Leading Hand, you will produce hand-crafted components to meet customer expectations, requiring a keen eye for detail and resilience in resolving manufacturing issues. You will also communicate team feedback to supervisors for appraisals.

Tasks and Responsibilities
* Safety First: Uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring all colleagues work safely and follow safety rules. Believe that all accidents are preventable.
* Factory Rules: Ensure compliance with factory rules. Address any issues with machines, people, or stock to maintain efficient manufacturing processes.
* Productivity: Monitor timekeeping and breaks to ensure colleagues work productively and adhere to agreed durations.
* Infrastructure & Site Management: Promptly report machine issues and maintenance needs without attempting repairs. Lock out defective machines.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all processes meet required quality standards.
* Order Management: Ensure the team works on the correct manufacturing orders to meet on-time delivery (OTD). Use work lists to set priorities and stay aware of work volume and due dates. Inform the supervisor of any issues impacting OTD.

* Problem-Solving: Pragmatic and quick-thinking to resolve issues effectively.
* Communication: Strong communication skills with shop floor workers.
* Self-Motivation: Highly self-motivated and reliable, capable of working autonomously, especially out of hours.
* Manufacturing Experience: Background in manufacturing.
* Independent Worker: Self-starter with the ability to work independently. Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Flexibility: Adaptable and able to handle ambiguity.
* Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in PC skills, particularly Excel and TSS IT/systems.
* Calm Under Pressure: Maintains composure and a robust personality in stressful situations.
* Leadership: Strong leadership qualities, calm and highly respectful of others.
* Objectivity: Able to act dispassionately and make business decisions without letting personal relationships interfere.
This position is based on-site at Bridgwater. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
