The Role:
We have an exciting vacancy for a full-time Lecturer in Maths within our maths team for a 12 month fixed term contract. You will teach on a variety of A level & GCSE Maths courses. The ability to teach on A Level Maths/Further Maths is essential. The highly successful team has a strong teamwork ethic and prides itself to be at the forefront of pedagogy and course development.
Key responsibilities:
● To plan and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with college standards and meet awarding body expectations.
● To develop schemes of learning and work (SOLW) /materials in line with course aims, objectives, mode of assessment and accreditation.
● To identify students requiring extra support and refer them to Additional Learner Support and plan for inclusive approaches in class delivery as appropriately against EHCP and support plans.
● To maintain high standards of student conduct by monitoring and supporting positive behaviours
● To liaise with parents/carers and external agencies as appropriate to provide pastoral care.
Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.
● A full level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or DET)
● 1st Degree or equivalent in a related subject
● Experience teaching on a range of programmes in a school or post 16 environment
● Up to date knowledge of the latest developments in vocational and academic education and training

The salary for this position is inclusive of London weighting. Please note that it is Newham College’s policy to offer all roles at the entry point of the salary scale advertised. However, based on your qualifications and experience, we may offer a higher starting salary within the specified salary range.
