Within this context we are seeking an Engineering Manager, a fantastic opportunity to lead the Engineering team covering all our sites in Lincolnshire, and to participate in the wider growth plans of the business. LOCATION: Skegness or Louth, Lincolnshire, with regular travel to all our sites in Louth & Skegness. JOB TITLE: Engineering Manager JOB TYPE: Full Time HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm SALARY: £55,000 - £65,500pa (may vary depending on skills and experience) JOB PURPOSE: Provide strong and dynamic leadership to our Engineering teams, building on the strong foundations that have been developed over recent years. Ensuring that the company’s equipment, infrastructure & buildings are maintained to the required company standard. Locate and purchase new or modify existing equipment as necessary to meet the company’s operational demands. To contribute to the growth of the company by championing Engineering improvements and new technologies. Key Duties: Fully responsibility for all Engineering activities across all plants, through Engineering Co-ordinator & site-based engineers. Drive ownership within each plant for Health & Safety, Quality and real root cause problem solving. Monitor operational equipment downtime & associated repair costs. Consider & introduce equipment modifications or replacement should either measure become excessive. Champion the use of proactive / preventative maintenance to prolong equipment life and reduce reactive maintenance works. Ensure the necessary external service contracts are in place to ensure compliance with recognised standards and legal requirements. Co-ordinate the Capital Expenditure plans for the company through a three year rolling CAPEX plan. Ensure suitable processes and methods are introduced to manufacture new products to the company to the agreed quality & cost. Visit equipment suppliers & exhibitions to keep abreast of the latest technological improvements with regards to operational equipment. Be an active member of the Management Team supporting other managers and departments as necessary to deliver the overall company objectives & strategy Representing & promoting the company when necessary to support customer & audit visits. Undertake a mentoring & coaching role to enhance the capabilities of their reports & sub-ordinates, focussing on delivering exceptional people to support the wider business improvement initiatives. Be an agent for change driving the business forward whilst not losing sight of the core values of the business as expressed in the Micronclean SKIE's. Drive effective data driven problem solving for both internal issues and customer concerns utilising a structured approach (Toyota 8 step model or Ford 8D for example) The Candidate: We are looking for an Engineer and a Manager who is a qualified multi-disciplined engineer with proven engineering management experience and has the ability to coach and train others on a structured approach to problem solving. The successful candidate will have the ability to look at the whole business, not just their individual departmental status and have a logical & data driven approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. The candidate will be a lateral thinker that can innovate and create alternative solutions to resolve long-term issues and have a proactive attitude to drive the department forward. Critical to their success will be their ability to build relationships with their internal customers and their staff, building on the positive situation they will inherit. They will look to continue the drive to implement real long-term solutions and stronger compliance to the wide range of legislative requirements to which any business of this size must comply. Due to the future plans for the business, there is potential growth for the successful candidate to be involved in the redevelopment of significant amounts of the businesses infrastructure and also take on the leadership of the Process Engineering function as part of their own personal development. Key experience essential for the role: Candidates must have a Full Driving Licence. Candidates must be minimum HND / HNC qualified within a relevant discipline or equivalent.
