The South West Cleft Service, based at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston, is looking for a detail-oriented Data Administrator to support our multi-disciplinary team.
As a service, we are required to submit clinic and outcome data to the national Cleft database (CRANE), as well as the Specialised Services Quality Dashboard on a regular basis. This postholder will be responsible for the accurate collection, input, and analysis of this data in addition to other role requirements. This will include liaising with patients and families in the service to maintain accurate records.
This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, enjoys working with data, and is especially confident in using Excel.

Main duties of the job
The role is responsible for data management best practice, data quality standards, data security and protection, data hygiene, data import and export, and data analysis.
* Managing the CRANE database within the SW Cleft Service
* Promoting the use of the CRANE database and providing training and support for members of the team.
* Liaising with patients and families to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Promoting best practice and ensuring accurate data collection and input.
* Ensuring that digital systems and processes within the department are consistently reviewed and improved.
* Producing ad hoc reports for members of the SW Cleft Service, as agreed by the Performance and Operations Manager.
Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working with MS Office programmes (particularly Excel, Word and Access) at an expert level using SQL queries, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
* Experience of working with IT and information systems.
* Experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and communicating it to staff at all levels.
* High accuracy in all aspects of work and excellent attention to detail.
* Experience of data collection, collation, reporting, presentation, and interpretation.
* Excellent organisation skills and ability to manage and prioritise workload.
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and information governance principles.
* Experience in the design and delivery of database training to users at different levels.
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of setting up and maintaining administrative systems and processes and contribution to Standard Operating Protocols.
