Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be the point of contact for all matters related to the day-to-day running of the clinic, conducting and overseeing comprehensive specialist assessments for individuals suspected of Autism and/or ADHD. You'll be responsible for writing up assessment reports promptly and professionally, providing actionable recommendations and interventions. Additionally, you'll maintain a clinical overview of all current assessment cases, ensuring clear plans are in place for each. Liaising with ND admin, you'll address logistical challenges, problem-solve issues like clinician sickness, and support newer team members in their transition. You'll also identify areas for improvement in clinic processes, chair multidisciplinary discussions, and pinpoint training needs, collaborating with senior leadership to enhance our services. Job responsibilities
This is an exciting and valuable full-time role for a team lead within a busy service, providing invaluable assessments to families and adults. This is a hybrid role located in Harrogate for a suitably qualified clinician working as a team lead within the Evolve Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team for adults and children referred for Autism and/or ADHD assessments via NHS Patient choice and their GP.
Main responsibilities include:
* Being a point of contact for all matters related to the day-to-day running of the clinic.
* Being familiar with all the resources (e.g. questionnaires) and components (e.g. cognitive assessment) that support the assessment process and guiding other clinicians.
* Maintaining a clinical overview of all the current assessment cases in the clinic.
* Liaising with ND admin about new cohorts of cases.
* Problem-solving issues in the clinic (e.g. clinician sickness/ reallocation of cases).
* Supporting newer members of the team in their transition into the work.
* Identifying issues in the clinic processes that may need improvement.
* Chairing MDT discussions.
* Identifying training needs and discussing with senior leadership.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or NMC registered nurse.
* Neurodevelopmental practitioner experience with specialist training.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK.
* Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/Specialist developmental assessments with children and/or adults.
* Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism and ADHD.
* Knowledge of differential diagnosis.
* ADOS-2/ ADI-R trained.
* Ideally QB Trained.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in report writing and record keeping.
* Additional qualifications in relevant areas of Autism and/or ADHD.
