Offices in London and Edinburgh - hybrid/Remote role
Leading investor, developer, and operator across Europe with over 5GW of grid capacity secured.
Over the last decade, this IPP has been on a successful journey to become a major player within the European onshore renewables space. They have been on an important mission to generate and produce as much energy from renewable sources as possible.
They have grown to play a vital role across all stages of the project lifecycle, beginning their support at investment stages. They also develop projects themselves but have seen additional success through their joint ventures in the space. They have teamed up with key players in the space for multi-gigawatt projects, developing and constructing out pipelines. They have over 5GW of grid connection capacity secured themselves. Finally, they work closely with EPC partners to construct assets as well as with their own asset operation and management teams.
Over the last 10 years, they have heavily expanded, working across the UK, Germany, and Italy. Their key technologies are solar, energy storage, and wind, with over 11GW across Europe being developed. They also work across DCO projects in this space too! Their pan-European team now stands at over 100 people, with this set to continue to grow over the coming years.
Culture is a key part of the team. They pride themselves on their professionalism and dedication to the renewable energy market. Their success is accredited to their friendly and caring teams, constantly seeking new ways to increase collaboration and support. At the core of the company is their entrepreneurial spirit. The team is self-motivated and excels in their respective areas.
The role:
This position is a crucial part of their next stage of growth. You'd have the opportunity to play a key part in their technical division and also their UK team. You'd work closely with the European Head of Grid and Chief Technical Officer as well as other Directors across development and engineering.
The position is more than just grid design or management; you'll be working through development and execution stages of these renewable projects. There would also be the potential to grow your own team of grid engineers to support the growth of the company's pipeline and team.
The main elements to this position can be summarised as:
1. Working on electrical engineering at a high voltage. The current pipeline is a mixture of both distribution and transmission, so knowledge of 132kV would be essential and 400kV would be highly regarded.
2. Managing multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure projects are delivered timely to a high standard.
3. Knowledge and experience with the UK grid code.
4. Strong communication skills to negotiate with and manage relationships with DNOs, TSOs, ICPs, and iDNOS.
5. A strong understanding of other relevant engineering elements to energy technologies, including civil engineering and construction.
This is a great opportunity to develop skills through the full project lifecycle, gaining experience at execution and development stages. You'd be supported by the rest of the technical and development divisions.
