Bloomberg’s Risk and Compliance Departments play a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world. The Chief Risk Office and Global Compliance team provide coverage of Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, including support for Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory and operational issues, ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators. We are currently looking for an experienced person to work with our Risk and Compliance Shared Services team.
What's The Role?
As the Risk and Compliance Policy Officer, you will work with the Chief Risk Office and Global Compliance teams, as well as key business and risk stakeholders. You will play a critical role in assisting with the developing the company-wide Policy Program strategy. Your expertise will contribute to Bloomberg’s proactive approach in managing risks. In addition, as your understanding of Bloomberg products develops, you will support the firmwide risk management program and have the ability to identify and escalate top and emerging risks to Senior Management and Risk/Compliance Management.
We'll Trust You To:
1. Contribute to a team to develop, enhance, and proactively maintain firm-wide policies and procedures that meet regulatory expectations, Bloomberg standards, and industry best practices.
2. Draft policy documents by working closely with various stakeholders across the Company, including Legal, Compliance, and Risk colleagues. Ensure policies are clear, concise, and easy to read.
3. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure policies are communicated effectively and implemented consistently throughout Bloomberg.
4. Continually assess and refresh policies to address emerging risks, regulatory trends, and changes to the business and implement effective communication protocols.
5. Assist with proactively identifying, recommending, and leading improvement opportunities to enhance the firm-wide policy document framework.
6. Contribute to assessing the effectiveness of the program and establish feedback loop for future policy enhancements, and Training content and delivery improvements.
7. Collaborate with risk, legal, and compliance teams to align policies and training to regulatory/operational expectations and industry standards.
8. Develop and present insightful management information directly to senior management on related policies and training courses.
9. Execute ad-hoc assignments as directed by management.
You’ll Need To Have:
1. 7+ years of direct experience in Policy Development, Training, and Risk Management.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business or related field.
3. Strong knowledge of regulations impacting the financial, technology, media industry.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts clearly.
5. Understanding of risk management, internal controls, and root cause analysis.
6. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts, and coordinating with several partners across our company.
7. The ability to work creatively and efficiently, to assist with building a policy program that’s practical, risk-focused, and conscious of business and control partners’ needs.
8. Strong team player skills in order to guide organizational change and collaborate with key partners across various levels.
9. Good understanding of non-financial risks and related regulations and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

We'd love to see:
1. Experience transposing global rules and regulation into Policy Documents.
2. Banking, technology or a financial services organization experience.
3. International experience, (Europe or Asia highly desirable).
4. Familiarity with financial markets and products including trading platform and operations.
5. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure.
