Role summary
Reporting to the Head of Cleaning and Grounds (Shepperton), the Group Grounds Operative focuses on the cleanliness of the Studios, whilst also performing horticultural tasks such as hedge cutting, grass cutting & leaf collection. They will also take ownership of the grounds department's gardening and cleaning machinery and tools.
Hours of work: 06:00 - 15:00 Monday - Friday, with one weekend every 3/4 weeks.
Principal accountabilities
* Monitor and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the studio site
* Clean, sweep and de-weed all roads and pathways, car parks, external lighting and signage
* Snow and ice clearance/gritting when required
* Removal of refuse, white goods and general rubbish. Remove rubble and pallets
* Jet wash buildings and covered areas where required
* Maintain, clean and report any issues with the Scarab Road sweeper and electric vehicles
* Complete PPM schedules in seasonal maintenance of flower, shrub, woodland gardens, trees, hedges and undeveloped fields
* Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of gardening machinery including mowers, strimmers and trailers.
* Site-wide weed, pest and disease control. Appropriate, timely and safe use of pesticides, as directed.
* Formative, seasonal and rejuvenate pruning of deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs, climbers and hedges.
* Turf maintenance
* Escalate any issues to manager and/or facility services team
Nature and scope
Most of the individual’s time is spent completing the principal accountabilities. There are minimal planning horizons, and they mainly complete in-day tasks. Some technical training may be needed but this can be provided on-the-job. There is minimal autonomy and direction is provided by management. Health and Safety adherence is crucial.
Skills and experience
* Any relevant qualifications e.g. Health and Safety, forklift truck driving.
* C1 License
* Commercial industry experience and knowledge of the sector
* Strong team player and orientation towards teamwork
* The ability to troubleshoot problems and think laterally
* Full driving licence
