Kennedys is looking for a Legal Support Supervisor to join our Legal Support Assistant team. This role is homebased with occasional travel to our London office on an adhoc basis. The working hours for this role are 10am to 6pm.
Team
Kennedys Legal Support Assistant team plays a key role in contributing to the effectiveness of the Firm by providing a comprehensive and efficient support service across all teams - UK and increasingly global.
The Supervisor Role is essential to the continued success of the services delivered by the Legal Support Assistants. The Supervisor will ensure that the team works collaboratively, keeping our lawyers on track regarding how they request work and promoting the service to the business. The Supervisor will report to the Team Leader and will be pivotal in managing workflow and providing guidance/support to our team, ensuring they understand what is required of them and deliver an effective service to the business.
This role encompasses a combination of legal support (75%) and supervisory responsibilities (25%), requiring flexibility as the role evolves to meet the needs of the business. Occasional attendance in the office may be required for meetings and/or training.
Key Supervisory Responsibilities
1. Assist with recruitment interviews
2. Triage SDP
3. Monitor and allocate jobs within BigHand
4. Update Legal Support guidance sheets/create a knowledge bank
5. Assist the Team Leader with annual reviews
6. Provide cover for Legal Support Team Leader and colleagues during holiday absences
7. CMS upload allocation
8. Assist with training/ensuring all mandatory training has been undertaken
9. Monitor quality control
10. Liaise with the Team Leader to assist new joiners in integrating into the team
11. Manage and prepare holiday schedules to ensure sufficient cover in place to meet the needs of the business.
Key Legal Support Responsibilities
1. Work methodically within SDP and be aware of work priorities. Collaborate with the team to ensure priority work is completed efficiently and that time is allocated to important but not urgent tasks.
2. Build strong relationships with teams
3. Follow correct procedures, instructions, and protocols, which will differ for each team
4. Produce a variety of documents from handwritten/typewritten drafts. Format documents into house style and transcribe digital dictation from BigHand.
Required Experience
1. Previous legal secretarial experience
2. Previous supervisory experience with strong leadership capabilities, including performance management discussions, mentoring, and developing teams
3. Exceptional interpersonal skills to handle a range of day-to-day management issues
4. Previous service desk experience
5. Proficient in MS Office packages
6. Knowledge of case management systems.
