Working as a part of the existing product design team you will be responsible for the design and development of the electronics and printed-circuit assemblies for future Racelogic products. Your Responsibilities: • Analogue and digital electronics design and PCB layout including circuit symbol and component footprint creation and component library management. • Working closely with colleagues to determine PCB configurations, outlines, interfaces, and interconnects. • Generation of supporting technical documentation including PCB fabrication and assembly drawings, bills of materials and manufacturing data. • Working with subcontractors to support PCB assembly and resolve PCB manufacturing issues. • Close collaboration with colleagues to design PCB production test strategies and develop the necessary test platforms and fixtures. • Hardware design verification, troubleshooting and debugging, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and other test equipment. • Close collaboration with colleagues engaged in firmware development. • Supporting colleagues engaged in product assembly and test, customer support, and the creation of product documentation. • Product EMC testing including working with test laboratories to agree test plans, support product compliance testing and resolve compliance issues. • Organizing, participating in, and documenting design reviews. • Regular reporting of project progress. Requirements: • A diploma or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. • 5 years’ overall electronics and multilayer PCB design experience in a commercial environment. • 2 years’ recent experience using an enterprise level PCB design tool such as Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or Altium Designer • Up-to-date technological knowledge including high speed digital design. • Good understanding of PCB signal integrity, PCB stack-up, impedance control, ESD mitigation and EMC compliance. • Knowledge of RF and FPGA design techniques would be advantageous. •A proven track record in both analogue and digital layout and design for test and manufacture. • Ability to work in a Team. • Attention to detail and focus on quality. • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and respond to changing project priorities. • Self-motivation with the ability to work under time-scale pressure. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to participate in technical discussions and understand & discuss complex ideas. • Desire to learn and understand the fundamentals inherent in our designs (high accuracy GNSS). • Knowledge of GNSS and/or automotive industry applications would be advantageous.
