About the job To repair our planet we need to rapidly scale environmental solutions; solutions that are known, understood and supported through an ecosystem of accelerators, academics, corporates, investors and non-profits. This role focuses on connecting with this ecosystem, understanding who holds expertise in specific environmental areas, and how their work aligns with The Earthshot Prize movement; creating opportunities to together contribute to achieving the Earthshots. Specifically, the role works with our communities of nominators, experts and nominees; easing their routes to actively contribute to the prize and be part of broader Earthshot movement. This role sits in the Search and Select team which is building a portfolio of cutting edge and best in class solutions that have the collective capability to achieve the Earthshots, and presenting this portfolio to colleagues and partners who can speed these solutions to scale. Key responsibilities Leading the expertise communities performance and experience: identifying opportunities to improve relationships for mutual benefit, including retaining and identifying new members for the communities. Establishing and managing new ways to engage with the expertise of community members: including through targeted working groups and specific partnerships. Building community with our 600 nominators and experts: identifying and establishing appropriate engagement opportunities including communication channels and community tools. Managing the community members and database: including data quality reviews, technical reviews of community members, community contributions (nominations and expert reviews) and feedback. Supporting constructive relationships with our nominees: identifying and managing opportunities for communications and engagement and linking opportunities across the communities. Supporting Regional Impact: Supporting our Heads of Regions to deliver their community engagement strategies, aligning with the communities of nominators, experts, and innovators. Candidate criteria Demonstrable experience building a professional community of hundreds of members in many different geographies Experience and knowledge of the innovation ecosystem, with knowledge of what drives organisations that are parts of our communities such as accelerators, VCs, research institutions, NGOs and corporates. Experience and knowledge of the environmental sector, ideally with deep understanding of a sector aligned to at least one Earthshot. Technical experience and understanding of community management platforms (i.e. Mighty Networks and similar) and CRMs (i.e. Salesforce), able to architect and run a community through these platforms You will be a self-starter, cherishing the opportunity to experiment and learn, keen to work with colleagues to jointly solve challenges, and ambitious to maximise the power of the Earthshot Prize network. You will also be resilient, flexible, kind, and able to operate in a rapidly changing start-up environment in this developing organisation. Working level second language, preferably Spanish and/or French or Portuguese. Benefits Annual Leave – We believe that taking time away from work is incredibly important. You will be entitled to 25 days plus any statutory bank/public holidays. Our holiday year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Pension – We contribute the full auto enrolment contribution of 8% into your pension after 3 months service. You do not have to contribute but you can if you wish. Family leave – We want to support you and your family and offer enhanced pay and leave after 3 months service. Our maternity/adoption pay and leave is 6 months full pay and our paternity/non pregnant parent pay and leave is 3 months full pay. 4-day working-week – The Earthshot Prize is currently taking part in 4 day working week trial, with positive results. In the 4-day week we focus on 100% of the productivity, 80% of the time, for 100% of the compensation. We all work Monday to Thursday, taking Friday off.
