Job Title: Training and Events Operational Manager
Job Overview:
The Associate Training team are responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of all Associate training from Pearson. They will lead the team and will work with a number of other functional departments to ensure the delivery of face-to-face and online events throughout the year and also all travel and accommodation booked by internal and external stakeholders is in line with Pearson Policy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborating with internal clients to design high-quality service solutions for their external customers, including financial planning, operational resource planning, and agreement of key performance indicators and service levels.
2. Implementation of the service solution(s).
3. Ensuring continuous improvement is effectively embedded in processes.
4. Driving forward change initiatives that constantly improve and move the team forward.
5. Managing resource levels and clearly demonstrating capacity planning for the team throughout the year, to ensure peaks in volume are managed and staff are utilized appropriately.
6. Travel approvals for Associate Management including policy review and implementation.
7. Managing the delivery of training.
8. Managing the recruitment, development, deployment, and payment of a pool of standardization officers.
9. Managing external suppliers of services as appropriate, reviewing existing service provision to ensure this aligns with the corporate procurement process, and challenging suppliers to improve their service offering at competitive rates.

Education, Qualifications, and Background:
* 5 GCSEs (Or Equivalent) A*-C to include English and Mathematics.
Previous Experience:
* Organizing own workload to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
* At least 3 years’ experience in an administrative/operational management environment.
* Working to tight deadlines.
* Ability to make fact-based, time-pressured decisions.
* Experience of working in a highly charged customer-facing environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Experience of change management.
* Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
* Experience of managing projects and working across teams and departments.
* Experience of Management at an Operational level.
* Working in the education sector.
* Budgeting and financial awareness.
IT Literacy:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Package.
* Able to quickly learn multiple software packages.
We are looking for a conscientious and hardworking, resilient, enthusiastic individual with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The post holder must be resilient and committed to meeting deadlines in a highly pressurized and delivery-driven environment.
Job Type: Full time permanent, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday with weekend work during peak activities/alteration of shift pattern.
Location: Office based.
Additional Information:
Overtime may sometimes be required to support peak activities and additional workload. Will be expected to pick up work from other areas of the business on request.
