Salary range: £68,742 - £72,041 per annum

Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working
Contract type: Temporary for 24 months

To support this ambition, we are seeking a Strategic Organisational Development Lead to champion leadership development across the council. This role will be instrumental in empowering our leaders with the skills and behaviours necessary to drive high performance and effective outcomes.
About us and the role
The successful candidate will conduct a comprehensive diagnostic to define and advise on strategies for leadership growth in alignment with our leadership, cultural, and inclusive ambitions. They will design and implement dynamic leadership programs that facilitate sustainable behavioural change and foster a positive, inclusive work environment. Additionally, they will research and establish a senior leader succession planning and development approach, ensuring a pipeline of capable leaders for the future. They will also develop a leadership maturity model to promote continuous learning and improvement, commission and manage bespoke services to support the leadership development program, and evaluate the outcomes and impact of leadership initiatives, adjusting strategies based on feedback and results.
A critical aspect of this role is building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that the Organisational Development Lead is seen as a credible, trusted partner to the Senior Leadership team. The Lead will work closely with these stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor leadership development strategies that align with the council's overarching goals.
About you
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a related field or equivalent experience with evidence of ongoing professional development. They will have experience in leading the design and delivery of leadership strategies within large, complex organizations. They will possess exceptional business and leadership acumen with a talent for critical and innovative thinking. Significant experience in coaching at the executive level and fostering growth in leadership capacities is essential. They will also have a proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams, including in matrix management environments.
