The HSE Manager is also responsible for rolling out initiatives and cascading information, systems etc in a systematic and timely way into their business sector in addition to making sure HS & E operates consistently and achieves the company's, clients and customers expectations. The HSE Manager will also be required to act as a coach and mentor to his or her direct reports and communicate all issues regarding HSE to the Head of HSE. The Manager must also provide support for any regulatory issues line managers may have. The role will from time to time involve project work/research and the HSE Manager will be expected to take a functional lead for Health & Safety, Food Safety or Environment as required by the HSE Director and Lead as well as supporting the Heads of Compliance/HSE Director in their absence. Key Accountabilities Contribute to and deliver HSE strategies, systems and procedures at all levels Single point of contact for HSE within their relevant Segment Ensure HSE team are appropriately supported in the delivery of HSE Maintain awareness of legislative, technical changes and ensure that information is disseminated as required to business sector leadership, HSE managers and are supported to ensure compliance Carry out regular reviews with direct reports Day to day contact Auditors, In-country/Unit managers, Contractors, Project and Line Management Work within a framework to ensure teams are communicated with and appraised of relevant HSE issues Work closely with the HSE director to promote HSE across the UK & Ireland division Liaise with outside agencies (e.g. local government) to promote the delivery of HSE Person Specification Lengthy experience of regulatory enforcement and experience working in the commercial sector at senior management level with specific knowledge of HSE and OSHA reporting Experience of the energy sector would be desirable Knowledge and/or experience of large projects and/or experience of working in facilities management Proven ability to influence, coach and motivate others An ability to effect change at all levels and work within tight budget constraints is an essential Travel will be expected About Us Job Reference: com/0304/555300/52724889/R/SU Compass Group UK&I is committed to fostering an environment where every individual can truly be themselves at work and has equal opportunities to advance in their careers.
